LED Display Signs Are On The Up
Pack A Neat Punch With 3D Or Wearable LED Signs And Logos

LED display signs are effective and inspirational. With LED displays pack an information punch or imprint a logo like never before. 3D uses limited space, and wearable makes LEDs ubiquitous. LED signs can show everything from letters to complex spatial matrices.

Just imagine what will be possible with LED display if this stuff is in experimental stage. Catch the forward looking and the uplifting.

3D Display
Guess cube is essential in limited 3D displays. Update: the cuba-tron has now been constucted in round version (Probably more so for the Burning Man festival theme mand its creative audience.)

Every step is one step closer to 3D television - you just feel it. And how about a wearable television a'la Teletubbies. Check out the Lumalight video at the top. Let your imagination soar.

2D to 3D idea
related and more in-depth

Simple enough LED display sign, yet oh so ingenous. Philips came out with this Lumalight range, which is the first wearable genenation of dynamic LED signs.

Other interesting concept of note in this family is LED curtain.

A LED display sign from these letters run across the cube: "C-E-N-T[???]   O-F   W-H-A-T   I   H-A-V-E   S-E-E-N."  What you see is actually 4D - a 3D message running.

Suppose you contrast some intricate fluid motion and the cube. All seen in space of course. (You could use some constant illumination of the strong edges to put the flux in context.) That would be inspirative stuff.

3D led display - cubatron propellerThis cool LED display project from my favorites is called the CubatronTM Propeller. It was developed by Mark Lottor for Network Wizard and one version presented at the Burning Man Festival. It is now a permanent art piece in a hotel in Dallas, Texas. The only thing is that it's now in a wall cavity so viewers can't appreciate it enough because it is not placed in space so you'd walk around and take in the full view. So if you are a decorator or an architainer wanting to install LED display stuff, please take note. These are spatial beasts.

Because if you want to think outside the box, (with fun LEDs it's a must) it is enough to take one look and be inspired. I was. Here is the web home of the cubatron LED display:

And finally 2D to 3D ...

If you want to put up 3D LED display signs without using up any space and feel sufficiently intrigued ...

... Then check this video out to have an idea how persistence of vision can help you putting a moving display of sorts in mid air. Truly inspirational ...
Click here to see the video about 2D LEDs displaying message and sign based on your eye's persistence of vision.

Perhaps you could try 3-4 rows of flashing LEDs at first and let me know how you go. I'd appreciate a message, pics and perhaps some vids if you had a go.
