There
is a type of application that is linked to the
scientific notion known to many as saccade.

We two
legged blue-sky and light detecting bodies called humans do not look at
a scene in a steady way. So what we do…? Our eyes jerk
around a scene looking for clues in light intensity. When we locate
interesting parts we build up a mental 'map' of what we think we see.
A saccade
has many meanings.
One
covers a very fast eye movement. The other - a fast shift in frequency
of an emitted signal or other such fast change.
The
unbelievable speed of such rapid eye motion give insight into the
complexity of the mechanism that controls the motion of the eye.
Actually, it is the fastest movement of an external part of the human
body. The peak angular speed of the eye during a saccade can reach 1000
degrees per second. A accade lasts from about 20 to 800 milliseconds.
